Gaming.
Something guys do a lot of. In fact, it's not just gaming, but other things that guys enjoy doing...
One of the most common reasons for arguments to break out between a couple is because A side refuses to give up something he/she enjoys for B side and B side just wants to spend more time with A side.
B side feels hurt and neglected.
A side feels he/she isn't in the wrong and have the right to do things that he/she enjoys.
B side just wants time with A side.
A side does not understand and continues playing games or doing whatever.
Argument.
B side forces A side to spend time with him/her.
A side feels pressured into giving up enjoyment to make B side happy.
B side feels guilty and sees that A side is not happy being together.
A side is not happy with B side.
Argument.
B side realises that this can't go on and wants A side to be happy.
A side is starting to feel the strain and wants to enjoy him/herself more.
Breakup.
Moral of the story: Don't get a gamer for your partner. Or if you're the gamer, don't get yourself a partner and save yourself a whole lot of trouble.
jk. The true moral is that if you're not ready to give up things for your partner, you don't deserve to be in a relationship. You can always say that he/she should be more understanding and cannot expect you to give up things you enjoy doing just for them, and in each case it's different, there has to be a line. Draw it with your partner together.
Another moral for the aftermath: Take hints. There's always a good reason for breaking up (unless you're a jerk who thinks it's fun to break up). It's OK to stop for a while, think, reflect, find out what happened, what went wrong, weigh up whether you want to 1) treat it as life's lesson and move on or 2) turn around, go back and try to savage whatever the past had for the two of you.
But if the other party is already treating you like you're non-existent and absolutely will not have anything to do with you, just... take the hint. Build a bridge. Get over it.
Or one could argue that for true love, one must not give up and keep trying no matter what. Then the ultimate question is whether it IS true love, and really, what is true love anyway? One thing for sure, true love- in human standards, is not one sided. Not talking about the altruistic love and compassion for those in need, nor am I talking about the unconditional love that God is associated with. This is love on a human level. "Want" can be one-sided, but love... I wonder if love even have sides.
Oh, it's raining.
And... I just lost my train of thoughts by looking out the window. The sky is really dark. Like, really really dark. It feels like thunderstorm soon (how gothic!) and I feel a bit emo talking about love and all that, but now my mind is wandering elsewhere and I need to do this individual case report.
